This is a channel all about fixing things. I love fixing things. I love encouraging other people to fix things themselves. I started this channel to help people fix things around their homes and maybe help their neighbor fix something as well. I am a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. The military taught me the plumbing trade. I have been around the world plumbing. A hobby I have is collecting and refinishing cool old tools. Mainly garage sale finds, and will post videos of those processes as well. Thank you for stopping by. Let's get to fixin!

Toilet Install With Flange Sitting To Low Start To Finish
As Popeye says, "Well blow me down."
You said the lines were cold at the start when it was broken, but then at then end when you fixed it the lines are still cold?
That older one probably stronger lol
I need to test that before a get rid of it.
Mittens on a long string is cheaper. 😂😂😂
😂 I suppose they would be.
Anyone ever heard of a pocket
😂 are they a new concept?
What if you got nasty stuff on your gloves you don't wanna shove in your pockets?
What size is the inner rubber tube? I see the fitting is 3/4 inch, but i dont the measure for the inner hose. Thanks
You do know there are rotary tools with little blades that will cut that
Yeah I feeling like I may really Jack it up soon.
Can I have your cord😅
Still have not upgraded my weed eater yet! 😂
You need a huge backpack blower so you can blast wet leaves piled as high as you. 😅
😂 the thought of a back pack blower seemed too much for me. I almost went for it though.
Wow nice blower Brian thanks for the info 👍
The front is damaged
Yeah, but it still works like a boss. Someone on our buy nothing group will love it.
@@ThatFixItGuy Well it was really cool
Ya battery operated blowers are a game changer and I’ve been so happy with its functionality! I use it almost daily bc it’s just too damn easy!
Yea by the way When will you do more toilet videos.
Where do I check what capacitor I will need for mine ?
That magnet add-on... you'd have to be super accurate with the correct amount of force. otherwise, your wood will look like a target sheet for guns. And listen to his clean speech while using the regular hammer, and then the shocker skips his arm and makes his voice quiver, so imagine your shoulder and neck eating the recoil from shock hammering all day. Meh its cool enough for me to say nothing by saying alot, too much even.
How does it cope with UV rays though?
Its the Flux Capacitor!!!
That's a nice hose but "safe to drink" is not a thing. When you turn off the water, you usually have standing water in the hose. That's the main issue with hoses. Bacteria and mold live inside the hose.
😂 I remember when a hose was a hose and you just drank from it!
Somebody put some thought into this !🤙
Plastic end fittings won’t last for me.
I wondered about that as well. I really would like to test one out.
Wow what a nice hose thanks for sharing Brian 👍
You’re welcome Britt! It seems pretty solid. I’m hoping to get a couple to test out soon
Out Friggin' Standing !!! 👍
So glad this could help.
Don't really need that angle stop tool. It's something else to carry around. I just snap my vice grips on the valve and turn the nut with my crescent wrench.
I totally get it. It’s nice to have one when changing out a whole house worth of stops
You'd be a great neighbor to have. Great job! 👍🏼
Thank you we really do try. Our neighbors are all really awesome.
Just saved me a service call on a Sunday. Thank you!
That is great to hear. So glad this could help.
Nicely done! Good to know about that tool!👍
It is pretty sweet.
This is what I hate about plumbing! The pipes coming out of the wall are always loose & moving around, but you have to use 2 tools in a tight space & pray you don't break or bend your pipes just trying to change that angle stop. All of mine need to be changed. I did one under the kitchen sink & bent the copper tubing. It took every bit of strength I had 😂 to get it loose & still had to call a plumber. I asked him what I did wrong, & he said I was too strong lolololol. I would rather shovel horse manure than do plumbing. Why anyone would make it this hard just stumps me, except to make money of course. And, I agree, your neighbor has a lot of problems with plumbing. Like me 😁
😂 some days I would rather grab a shovel as well. I love that I can help people with these issues.
Hey Brian great video and information thanks take care and I hope you and your family have a great rest of your weekend 👍
Thank you Britt and same to you.
Your video is good overall, but I really think you should cover the problem of getting the ferrule off and properly tightening the new valve. The ferrule can be really tough to get off, even with a puller. I once mushroomed the end of the pipe trying to get the ferrule off with a puller. For that reason, I like the small hacksaw cut method. If you have a lot of ferrules to get off then, the puller is probably the way to go. The other thing is how to tighten the valve nut and new ferrule after prep. I did what I thought was correct according to the manufacturer's instructions. Didn't want to tighten it too tight, but then again not enough. I went with a half turn or so by marking the nut with a sharpie. I was so concerned that it might pop off and flood my home that I called my favorite plumber to verify that I installed it right. He said that I did it the way he would have done it. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but when you've gone through water damage in your home that cost around $10K to fix, you want absolute confidence. I did a second one, but had to tighten it about 3/4 turn to get it to stop leaking. Anyway, I could probably write a book on these compression angle stop valves.
Oh man I totally get it. I feel like each manufacturers threads can make a difference on tightening as well. I will do a video of different ways to get a ferrule off. Thank you for watching and the comments. I get the feelings about flooding a house as well. I some times triple check things.
@@ThatFixItGuy Sure, you're welcome. Believe me, we really appreciate your advice and help on this. I'm glad that I could share my experience with you. Maybe the thing to do on the ferrule is try the puller first, and if that gets unusually tough then stop and cut it off carefully. Tightening the new ferrule is a whole another things. I look forward to any new video on how to do this. 👍👍👍
Wow, "your neighbor" has ALOT of plumbing problems!...
Older home. He has had a few things going on.
Do you happen to have any information on that collet puller where to buy one? It looks like it pulls the collet off easier that some off the other pullers.
www.englishtoolco.com/ is where you buy it. Best one I’ve ever used.
Thanks brother!!
Your welcome. Thank you and have a great weekend!
is there a way to disable these? I don't want air sucking into the hose every time - plays heck with my pressure washer
I believe you could put a plug in the top if you wanted.
Thanks guy, from South Carolina!
Your welcome! Have a great weekend.
More escutcheon for the pushin
😂
Awesome informative video brother. I am sure this one will be a big help for some people. Hope you and the family are doing great and as always it is great to see another great video.
Thank you Steve! We are doing good. Just livin bro. Trying to spend as much time as I can with the kids. Something always has to suffer and it is the second job most of the time! Hope you have been well!
Wow I have a wobbly toilet in my upstairs toilet.
Pull and reset. Make sure nothing is jacked up. Then all a couple shims when you put it back down. I like the rubber flexible shims.
@@ThatFixItGuy no but my real name is Paul my dad doesn’t mind if I add a comment as long as it’s not offensive. Anyways I noticed it

Awesome. So glad this helped.
75 psi you need a pressure reducing valve

Great info but I call it "Phishing" title. The are multiple videos on same issue. If they are all titled similar way as yours you have to watch all of them to find out that they are about same issue. There fore getting HVAC guy would be cheaper than spending more than hour watching youtube on same issue. You have good content in this video don't ruin it with tricky title. Simply bad capacitor in brackets would solve it.
very helpful having the same problem thanks man!
I wanted to see wheels on the tall one so you could use it like a dolly, just tip it back and wheel it
That would a a great ergonomic feature.
The flange should be flush with the floor, the last spacer was 100% not necessary
Flange is supposed to be 1/4 above finish floor.
What is the name of the auger.?
Ridgid power spin plus.
Teflon on the threads, silicone under the basin lip. That’s it. Nothing additional needed underneath if compressed correctly.
Clean you toilet of put a new wax ring on it. Shouldn’t smell
He officially has two fart boxes
